Discover the Art of Ursula Hamann
Chester Library is pleased to showcase the work of Chester artist Ursula Hamann. Born and educated in Germany, Hamann came to the United States with her husband, John, in 1954, and began her artistic career as a painter. After a back injury made painting difficult, she returned to a childhood art form, Scherenschnitte, the intricate German tradition of paper cutting.
Stop by the library to see a selection of Hamann’s beautiful work and discover a piece of Chester’s artistic history.
