Library Open House

Thursday, April 12th  10 am – 5 pm

 Help us celebrate National Library Week and the announcement of the new Chester Library logo!  Stop by for refreshments and find out all our library has to offer.  You’ll also receive a small gift with our new logo and be able to win prizes by entering our special raffle.

Special E-Book Collection for Kids

TumbleBooks is a collection of animated, talking picture books and chapter books which can be viewed using any reading/mobile device that has an internet connection.  The collection includes fiction, non-fiction, Read-Alongs, foreign language titles, puzzles and games.

Our TumbleBooks collection is now available on your tablet or smartphone!  The apps for both Apple iOS and Android devices and can be found in the AppStore or Google Play.

Preschool Story Time

Tuesdays at 10:30 am & Wednesdays at 2:00 pm

 Preschoolers will enjoy stories, songs and a craft while building important literacy skills.  All ages welcome.

Library Babies

Mondays, April 9th  & April 23rd at 11:00 am

This special program meets twice a month for infants and children up to 24 months.

Will include rhymes, stories and songs. Older siblings also welcome.

 Rock Painting Craft

Thursday, April 12th  4:00 – 5:00 pm

Join us for a rock painting workshop led by local artist Susan Scarince Jones. Everyone will decorate two rocks to bring home — please wear clothes appropriate for painting.   For kids in 4th grade and up.

Chess Club

Wednesday, April 18th  4:30 – 5:45 pm

 Learn tips from a chess instructor and have fun playing other students at this monthly program. For students who would like to learn chess and players who want to improve their skills! Best for students in grades 2 – 8.

Paws Reading Buddies

Wednesday, April 18th  6:30 – 7:30 pm

Children gain confidence while reading aloud to a trained therapy dog.  Bring a favorite book or borrow one of ours.

Kids will receive a PAWS reading log to be stamped every time they read with one of the dogs – when their log is full they earn a free book!

Music with Mrs. Karen

Thursday, April 26th at 10:30 am

Registration for this program begins April 1st!

Music time is fun time at the library! Join Mrs. Karen for 45 minutes of singing, dancing and activities with props and rhythm instruments. Good for all preschoolers (babies included!)  Space is limited — registration required for this program.
