Special E-Book Collection for Kids

TumbleBooks is a collection of animated, talking picture books and chapter books which can be viewed using any reading/mobile device that has an internet connection.  The collection includes fiction, non-fiction, Read-Alongs, foreign language titles, puzzles and games.

Our TumbleBooks collection is now available on your tablet or smartphone!  The apps for both Apple iOS and Android devices and can be found in the AppStore or Google Play.

Children of all ages are invited to participate in Chester Library’s 2019 Summer Reading Program!  Reading in the summer is fun and helps children maintain their reading skills during the summer months.  Sign up for the summer reading program and receive your own Reading Log — weekly prizes for all readers!  The Reading Program will kick off on June 27th with a special magic show.

Arts & Crafts Day

Wednesday, July 3rd  2:00 – 3:30 pm

 Be creative and drop by different stations to create  fun summer art projects! Please dress for painting.  Best for ages 3 and up.

Library Babies

Mondays, July 8th and July 22nd  at 11:00 am

This special program meets twice a month for infants and children up to 24 months.

Will include rhymes, stories and songs. Older siblings always welcome.

  Preschoolers will enjoy stories, songs and a craft while building important literacy skills.  All ages welcome.

Paws Reading Buddies

Wednesday, July 17th 6:30 – 7:30 pm

Children gain confidence while reading aloud to a trained therapy dog.  Bring a favorite book or borrow one of ours.

Kids will receive a PAWS reading log to be stamped every time they read with one of the dogs – when their log is full they earn a free book!

Calling Youth Artists!

Preschoolers – 5th Graders

Submit your out-of-this-world art inspired by outer space and help us decorate our bulletin boards for this summer’s reading theme,  A Universe of Stories.  Art will be displayed all summer in the Chester Library children’s room.  Click here for the complete guidelines.
