Chester Library and Chester Historical Society Spotlight Six Chester Women in New Exhibit

The Chester Library and Chester Historical Society present a Women’s History Month exhibit spotlighting six notable Chester women. Throughout the Library, visitors will find biographical information and photos of Chester Borough’s first female mayor, Janet Abeles; professional women’s baseball player, Lois “Tommie” Barker; editor of WWII newsletters, Mae Call; creator of Bamboo Brook Outdoor Education Center, Margaret Brookes Hutcheson; famed herb farmer and conservationist, Elizabeth Kay; and renowned concert pianist Leila Topping. We hope this exhibit inspires you to celebrate the notable women in your life.
